Mint Chutney

This goes well with a variety of Indian hors d'oeuvre, e.g., pakora, samosa, or shami kebab. Adding nuts (pine nuts, cashews, or peanuts) makes a creamier version.

  • 1 bunch mint 
  • 1 bunch cilantro 
  • 1 medium onion 
  • 1 inch ginger roor 
  • 3 cloves garlic 
  • 1 tablespoon pine nuts 
  • 1 green chile 
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice 
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt 

Grind all ingredients in a food processor, adding enough water to make a smooth paste.
